Ventriloquist

Appearance:

Body structure – Snowbell have a somewhat strange build – She’s an awkward mix between robust and short legged. The white felmark have surprisingly sturdy and white shoulders, and powerful back legs. Her front legs are strangely slender and short, which makes her look a bit out of proportion. Snowbell’s head is soft and round, with two large ears and a large, white, fluffy tail that her kits often pounce on. She’s often mistaken as a student, due to her small size, but it’s more likely that her growth had stopped when she’s still a student of unknown reasons.

Fur color and texture – Snowbell is completely clad in white fur, from head to toe. Her fur is soft, but very thick and heavy. She even once accidentally smoldered her kits with her fur, when they are still young. Snowbell’s fur is also considerably curly at the tips, and the fur on her chest and underbelly are very wispy.

Eyes – Snowbell have bright and clear blue eyes, and they are very glassy, and can easy reflect what she sees.

Horns – Like most Spring Court felmarks, Snowbell possess long, and slightly bent horns, much like a gazelle. It’s dark brown in color, and dangerously sharp at the end.

Scent – The usual Spring Court scent, with a hint of flowers and milk.

Voice – Snowbell used to possess a high pitched, childish voice, often fooling other felmarks that she is a student. Her current voice is still child like, but considerably deeper and quieter, and more mature.

Personality:

Charismatic || Sweet (+) – Even now, Snowbell is extremely good at speaking. When she speaks, it immediately captures the attention of surrounding felmarks, and the felmarks actually listen to what she says. Snowbell is also extremely nice to everyone, even strangers, and of course, she’s a smooth talker, being able to talk her way out of anything. Snowbell is sweet by nature, and even if this is the first time meeting her, she would be kind, and immediately make you feel comfortable and at ease talking to her. That’s one of the reasons why Snowbell has so many felmarks supporting her.

Optimistic || Determined (+) – Snowbell is always determined to look at the bright side of things, she believes that life always offer wonderful things, it’s just that you don’t always notice them right away. She’s also very enthusiastic at partaking in Court activities, even after giving birth to three kits. Snowbell is the kind that always wants to contribute something, even when it’s difficult to. She’s very determined, and once she had set up a goal for herself, there’s no way she’ll give up. Because what’s the point of setting goals if you can’t achieve it?

Cheeky || Brazen ( = ) – While Snowbell is charismatic and a good speaker, she could be quite playful and bold with her words. Annoying her Court mates seems to be some sort of past time; her friendly yet persistent teasing could make her quite a nuisance. Snowbell is also bold with her choice or words, and isn’t afraid to use derogatory slangs, but recently she had stopped using them because she’s afraid of influencing her kits in a bad way. She also seems to be the kind that feels no shame in her actions, which also makes her less likely to apologize when she accidentally offends someone.

Satirical|| Harsh ( = ) – Snowbell is very critical with her comments, and sometimes she’s so harsh and sarcastic that it just upsets her students. Of course, she means no harm, she just want the young ones to learn and improve from their mistakes, but contrary to what her court believes, Snowbell is an old style, hardline teacher and combatant, who believes that directly pointing out the mistakes of her students is the best and fastest way for them to improve and learn. Snowbell is also not the kind of felmark that takes for granted; she wouldn’t go easy on a student that she’s familiar with, she gives all her students equal respect and work.

Insensitive || Judgmental (-) – As said above, Snowbell is extremely harsh and very criticizing when it comes to her students. But she’s also blunt to fellow felmarks, combatant and scholars alike. One of the reasons why she’s such a charismatic leader and extremely trusted, is because Snowbell is very straightforward and truthful, and doesn’t hesitate to speak out her own opinions. This makes others feel that Snowbell isn’t hiding anything, which makes it easy for her to gain their trust. But because of her bluntness, Snowbell also had earned herself quite a few enemies, who can’t tolerate her insensitiveness. Snowbell is also the kind that assess other felmarks quickly, and very judgmental of felmarks that she had never met before. Usually it’s their first impressions that Snowbell judge on, and Snowbell could be very stingy to felmarks that she deems “immature” and “stupid”.

Spiteful || Stubborn (-) – While Snowbell is friendly and gentle to most felmarks, she could be extremely venomous when talking to felmarks that she doesn’t like. She’s not the kind that has favorite students, or favorite certain felmarks over each other, but Snowbell does have felmarks she dislikes. Of course, being the way she is, she would try to treat them with respect and fairly at first, but if those felmarks get on her nerves, she could become very cold and frigid with her attitude. Snowbell also have an excellent memory in remembering grudges, and very rarely will she reconcile with those whom she bears a grudge against, unless they apologize to her first, as Snowbell isn’t really good at apologizing.

Love interests:

Preference – A kind and intelligent tom who knows how to crack a good joke.

Sexual Orientation – Heterosexual.

Crush(s) – So far none at the moment?

Mate – Carbon

History:

Kit || Chelsea and Flamer were both foolish and young when they first met. The era that they both live in is peaceful, as Spring Court is at their highest, and no other Courts dared to challenge them. The couple has nothing in their minds, idle from the lack of work, and it wasn’t long before Chelsea became pregnant.

Of course, Chelsea and Flamer didn’t really love each other; they’ve only realized that after their first litter was born. However, they love their kits fiercely, and the two vowed that they would bring up their kits as best as they could, even if they don’t love each other.

Snowbell had a considerably peaceful and easy life. She and her brother, Watercress, often challenged each other to various activities, as they are very competitive. Watercress is a natural leader, always bossing around his sisters on what they should and should not do. But Snowbell doesn’t like her brother’s bossiness. By the time she’s old enough to talk fluently, she made her brother’s life difficult by harassing him with a shower of puns and sarcastic comments.

Soon, it was time the siblings became students, and Snowbell was chosen to be a combatant, and trained under one of the senior felmarks in the Court.

Student || By the time their kits had became students, Chelsea and Flamer’s relationship is starting to fall apart. As they had never really loved each other, they became more distant, and the three-year-old Flamer became involved with another female felmark, named Flora. And no one was really surprised when Flora announced that she’s pregnant with Flamer’s kits.

The only exception is Chelsea and her kits. They were shocked by this revelation. Although Chelsea knew that this was to happen sooner or later, she is still depressed; that her partner who had helped her raises the kits would just blatantly leave her. Snowbell could only feel sorrow and disappointed at her father’s betrayal. She and her siblings tried to cheer their mother up, but despite their best effort, Chelsea died not long after her break up with Flamer. The Timekeeper said that she died from a fever, but the siblings suspect that it’s more than that. Flora and Chelsea were never really even at each other. Unlike Flamer’s previous relationship with Chelsea, he and Flora really are in love with each other, and Flora would often make cutting remarks at Chelsea, sneering at her failed relationship with Flamer, and also her struggling to bring up the kits alone. Watercress and Willow immediately had a deep hatred directed towards their father, and his new family. Snowbell was especially wary of her brother, who seems to seek revenge, as he blames his father’s new family as the cause of their mother’s death.

One day, while Snowbell is visiting her mother’s grave, she found a little canary singing on top of the grave marker. Curious of the little bird, she inched closer, and accidentally spooked the canary, which fell on top of the grave squealing. Snowbell hastily apologized, and eventually, the little canary (named Casey) began to get closed to the white felmark, and the two became solid friends afterwards.

Combatant || The siblings finished their training with flying colors. Snowbell is now a fully-fledged combatant, but she’s still pissed that some of the older felmarks tease her small size and childish face.

The Court also isn’t as peaceful as before. There’s a slight skirmish with a griffin at the borders, and griffins are spotted far more frequently than before. The Noble of the Court told everyone to be alert, and so did they.

One day, while Snowbell is out hunting with Casey, she saw a griffin taking off from a copse of trees. Running towards it, she realized that it had killed her father, Flamer, and stolen his artifact. But more shockingly, she saw Watercress bent over their father, and apparently studying him like a specimen of some sort. Outraged, Snowbell demanded on why he didn’t save their father. Watercress replied calmly, saying that a murderer shouldn’t be defended. That was when Snowbell suddenly realizes just dangerous her brother had become. She ran back to camp and spilled the story to Willow, but to her horror, Willow doesn’t seem to care, and dismissed her father’s death with a flick of her tail, as if it’s a bird that had died, and not their father.

Shaken by her siblings’ lack of emotions, she was confronted by an agitated Flora, who blamed her for Flamer’s death. Finally losing her calm, Snowbell yelled back at Flora, saying that she was the one who caused Chelsea’s death, and stormed away.

It wasn’t long before the griffins made their move. They ambushed the Courts all at once, and stole most of the artifacts. Watercress died in the raid. Willow was critically injured. And Snowbell is furious. It wasn’t long before the Courts counterattacked and got back their artifacts, but this time Flora died, leaving her young kits orphaned.

Queen || One day, Snowbell lost Casey in the Sticks, and sought help from a Winter Court tom named Carbon, who managed to find Casey in the dead forest. The two immediately became good friends, and eventually, they fell in love and became mates.

After a few months or so, Snowbell found herself pregnant, and assumed that Carbon was the father. Around the time she’s about to give birth, Snowbell fell seriously ill, and the kits she’d delivered are barely alive. After a week, they finally perished, leaving Snowbell in despair.

Relationships

Casey || Familiar || Alive – Although Snowbell gets annoyed at her familiar easily, she’s very close and protective of Casey, and would even attack other felmarks for his sake. The two are the best of friends, and rarely separated.

Willow || Sister || Alive – Before, Snowbell and Willow shared an extremely close bond. They would practically tell each other everything, from secrets to crushes to cats they hate. But after Willow dismisses her father’s death as if it’s nothing unusual, their bond becomes more strained, and the two rarely talks to each other now.

Watercress || Brother || Deceased – Snowbell used to share a strong bond with her brother as well. They like competing against each other, and teasing each other with every chance they’ve got. But after Flamer’s death, Snowbell realized that she doesn’t understand Watercress as well as she thought, and starts to fear his coldness. They’ve stopped talking to each other completely after that.

Chelsea || Mother || Deceased – Snowbell loves her mother a lot, and trusts her a lot as well. She’s devastated when Chelsea died.

Flamer || Father || Deceased – Although Snowbell is disappointed of her father leaving Chelsea, she still respects him and his strength, and acknowledges that he’s happier with his new family.

Flora || Stepmother || Deceased – Snowbell shared an intense hate at Flora, who reciprocates those feelings as well. Although Snowbell had accepted that Flamer is happier with his new family, she hates his new mate dearly. The images of Flora abusing Chelsea in the nursery, or Flora hissing at her siblings, will never leave Snowbell’s memories. She’s happy when Flora died, although she felt a bit sorry for her orphaned kits.

Ruth || Half sister || Alive – One of Flora’s children; Ruth is the oldest of the litter. Snowbell and Ruth have a healthy respect for each other, as they are very much alike. She even offered to mentor Ruth, when it’s time for the dusky brown tabby to become a student.

Joseph || Half brother || Alive – One of Flora’s children; Joseph is the second oldest of the litter. Unlike the relationship his sister and Snowbell shared, his relationship with is half sister is more strained. From an early age, he had observed how his mother had abused Chelsea, and he started to follow suit, calling Chelsea a failure and a whore. Snowbell remembered that clearly, and to make things worse, Joseph blamed Snowbell and her siblings for Flamer’s death, and Snowbell retaliated by critically injuring him.

Eustace || Half brother || Alive – One of Flora’s children; Eustace is the second youngest of the litter. He shared a mutual respect with Snowbell, but at the same time, feared her, after seeing how she had attacked Joseph when he insulted her. He doesn’t blame Snowbell or her siblings for their father’s death, but he is wary of them.

Dace || Half sister || Alive – One of Flora’s Children; Dace is the youngest of the litter. Her feelings are somewhat negative towards Snowbell and her siblings, although she doesn’t hate them like her brother Joseph does. But she does occasionally make a sarcastic comment about her half siblings, and tends to ignore them when they tried to speak to them. Snowbell, on the other hand, pretty much ignores Dace and her cutting remarks, and sometimes, every now and then, she would harass Dace with puns, and sneer on how Dace is cowardly like the freshwater fish she’s named after.

FAMILIAR PROFILE

Name: Casey || Dunno why he’s named Casey

Gender: Male || Heterosexual

Age: Two years || Capricorn

Partner: Snowbell

Species: Canary

Appearance

Casey takes the appearance of a normal canary; bright yellow feathers, brownish yellow legs, and average – length wings. The only exception is that Casey’s eyes are blue in color, an anomaly that isn’t normally seen in his kind.

Personality

Nice || Polite (+) – Casey is a very polite and friendly little canary. While his shyness could be quite annoying, he’s generally nice to everyone, or nearly everyone. He’s very good at making memoriable impressions, which is probably one of the reasons why Snowbell likes him and chose him to become her familiar. And unlike his felmark partner, he maintains a neutral and polite tone even when speaking to other felmarks or familiars he doesn’t like. He acts as some kind of fatherly figure towards Snowbell when she’s upset.

Observant || Sharp (+) – Casey is relatively good at observing the attitude of other felmarks. He’s also very good at reading the atmosphere, and would quickly change the topic when he sense tension brewing between his partner and someone else. And also, quite unlike Snowbell, Casey knows when to shut up. He wouldn’t continue to criticize someone else if he can tell that they are already upset, and he’s also an icebreaker of some sort between Snowbell and a felmark that she doesn’t like.

Timid || Shy (-) – While Casey is a remarkable familiar and with no doubt extremely smart, he’s painfully shy. He hates attention, unlike Snowbell, and the problem is that Snowbell always commands a lot of attention on herself. During gatherings, he’s often seen hiding behind his partner’s back. He also doesn’t talk much to other felmarks or familiars, and Snowbell is the only felmark he could talk to without stammering.

Sensitive || Easily annoyed (-) – While it doesn’t seem like it, Casey is very sensitive to other’s comments. He doesn’t know what a joke is, and treats a joke like some kind of offense. He could get quite violent if someone makes fun of him, and Snowbell often criticize him over this.

I’m ok with gore, not too intense maybe. I don’t swear in RPing so keep that in mind.

    Roleplay example

    Snowbell from Familiar-Seasons

The warm sunlight poured down onto Spring Camp, reflecting in Snowbell’s deep blue eyes. Spring has come, and the hollow is ridged with beautiful flowers. Her kits are laughing and screaming with joy, as they tumbled through the clovers and daisies. Further along the hollow, musk mallows and sweet goldenrods dance gently in the wind, and a patch of milkweeds bloom at the very top of the hollow, the wind carrying it’s delightful scents down into the camp and filling every crook and cranny with it.

How long has it been, ever since Snowbell had last saw her mate again? The pure white felmark racked her brains, slightly drugged from the melodies of the whistling wind and the rustling of the flowers. She was startled when tiny claws suddenly dug into her head.

“Casey?” She muttered and blinked her eyes a few times. She thought her canary is sleeping on his favorite willow tree.

Casey gave her head a tap. “Wake up sleepyhead! If you fall asleep, who’ll look after your kits?” He chastised gently. Snowbell bolted upright, and glanced frantically around. “The kits – my kits, are they alright??” She asked urgently, swatting one paw at Casey. Exhaling, Snowbell sighed with relief when she saw her kits playing underneath the tree trunk. For a moment, she thought they had strayed out of camp.

“Well, aren’t you a responsible mother! Snoozing when your kits are playing outside.” A very unpleasant voice cuts through Snowbell’s mind, and she whipped around, facing Joseph sneering at her, and Dace standing not far away, her yellow eyes cold.

Snowbell’s claws slowly slide out, digging into the ground, while Casey huffed and glared at Joseph. “Watch your mouth, Joseph… unless you want another scar on your lovely face,” The canary warned, his eyes dark. Joseph immediately stepped backwards, creating a fair distance between him and Snowbell. The scars that the white she-cat had left on him still haven’t completely healed, and he had tasted her incredible fighting prowess first hand.

Dace, on the other hand, approached Snowbell and Casey, apparently unfazed by the canary’s warning. “You are just like Chelsea,” She growled, ears flicking at Snowbell who stood as still as a rock. “Chelsea has failed her duty as a mother to bring up her kits, and you too, are showing signs of failing. No wonder our father left her.” Dace ended her sentence with a snarl.

The last part struck Snowbell like a nerve. She flashed out a paw at Dace, claws unsheathed. Dace easily dodged it, as she’s a trained combatant, and took a step back, her head held high with triumph.

Snowbell would have wanted to pounce at Dace and rip her apart, but Casey’s claws dug into her head again, this time harder. It’s clearly a warning from her familiar. Exhaling, Snowbell sheathed her claws and regained composure. “Don’t push your luck, you cowardly fish.” She hissed at Dace through gritted teeth. The gray she cat bristled at the comment, clearly ticked off. Inwardly pleased that she had managed to anger Dace, Snowbell continued, “You should know better than to insult a deceased Court Member. My mother had reared my littermates and me properly, unlike your mother, who clearly can’t bother to teach you to respect your seniors, or basic manners.” She ended her sentence and whipped around, stalking back towards the nursery. She didn’t notice Casey flying off towards her kits. The white she cat is fuming. Turning back around to face Dace again, she began: “Go back to the nursery, kit.” She sneered, and disappeared into the darkness of the nursery.
